Lincoln Loves Locals: A Community That Believes
There is something special about a community that chooses to show up.
That was the feeling in the room at this year’s Lincoln Loves Locals, a room filled with local businesses, longtime supporters, new friends, volunteers, donors, and people who simply believe that young adults in our community deserve to be believed in.
And what a night it was.
Together, we raised an incredible $33,328 for The HUB Central Access Point for Young Adults. But when we think about what that number represents, we see much more than dollars. We see a young adult who needs a little help getting to work. We see someone working toward their GED who needs encouragement and someone willing to say, “You can do this.”
We see a young parent who needs diapers, a young person facing an unexpected housing crisis, or someone who simply needs a caring adult to sit down with them and help figure out what comes next. We see young adults building their lives. And we see a community willing to stand beside them.
